Cancer Care - Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a drug-free health care practice which helps individuals of all ages to break down barriers to physical function. Physiotherapy can be helpful at any stage of their cancer journey through restorative, supportive, preventative or palliative interventions.

For patients at the OICC, barriers to optimal physical function often result from chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Physiotherapy can support people suffering from pain, decreased joint mobility, muscle weakness and respiratory issues. Physiotherapy can help to improve treatment outcomes and better manage pain and cancer-related fatigue. Physiotherapy also plays an important role in health promotion and cancer prevention.
